9月3日上午，紀念中國人民抗日戰爭暨世界反法西斯戰爭勝利80周年大會在北京天安門廣場隆重舉行。作為港澳華僑和政協委員代表，我非常榮幸地在現場聆聽了習近平總書記的重要講話，緬懷先烈、呼喚和平，撫今追昔、心潮澎湃。

銘記歷史、緬懷先烈、珍愛和平、開創未來。這場關乎民族存亡的偉大鬥爭，不僅重塑了世界格局，更鑄就了中華民族百折不撓的精神豐碑。追憶抗戰期間，香港同胞與內地軍民同仇敵愾。東江縱隊港九獨立大隊的浴血奮戰，宋慶齡領導的「保衛中國同盟」在香港的抗日募捐，這種「天下興亡、匹夫有責」的擔當，正是今天我們應對複雜國際形勢的精神底氣。

80年前的今天，中國人民同世界人民一道，打敗了法西斯主義，取得了正義戰勝邪惡、光明戰勝黑暗、進步戰勝反動的偉大勝利。作為戰時重要的國際通道和情報樞紐，香港曾承擔著向內地轉運戰略物資、掩護文化精英轉移的重任。這段歷史深刻揭示：香港的命運始終與祖國緊密相連，只有背靠祖國才能抵禦風浪，只有服務國家才能贏得未來。

作為新時代中華民族偉大復興的親歷者、見證者，撫今追昔，我深切感受到，在「一國兩制」的框架下，京港兩地青年更應攜手傳承抗戰精神，讓歷史記憶轉化為奮進新時代的強大動力。抗戰精神的核心是自強不息。以香港北京高校校友聯盟10萬名會員為紐帶，我們將以團結和帶領海內外華人華僑為己任，積極把握新一輪科技與產業變革先機，依託香港國際金融中心優勢與北京科創資源，加強人工智慧、生物醫藥等關鍵技術攻關，將愛國情懷轉化為協同創新動能。構建全球青年夥伴網路。推進在數字經濟、氣候變化等新領域延續國際合作傳統，讓抗戰精神煥發時代光彩。

On September 3, a grand gathering commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held at Beijing’s Tiananmen Square. The president, honorary members, directors, and representative members of the Hong Kong Beijing University Alumni Alliance (the Alliance) were invited to attend the ceremony as guests. They enthusiastically shared the unforgettable and honorable moments, listened on-site to the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping, commemorated the martyrs, called for peace, reflected on the past and the present, and felt a surge of emotions.

Eighty years ago, our predecessors defended the nation’s dignity at the cost of their lives. Today, the youth of Beijing and Hong Kong should embody the "Lion Rock Spirit" and continue to achieve new glories in the new battles of technological breakthroughs, cultural dissemination, and international exchanges. Let us remember history, stay true to our original aspirations, and inherit and promote the great spirit of the War of Resistance through concrete actions. Let us contribute our wisdom and strength to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, ensuring that the "Pearl of the Orient" shines even more brilliantly in the journey of our motherland’s revival.

On the morning of September 3, a grand gathering commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held at Beijing’s Tiananmen Square. As a representative of overseas Chinese from Hong Kong and Macao and a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, I was deeply honored to attend the ceremony and listen on-site to the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping. It was a moment of reflecting on the past and the present, commemorating the martyrs, calling for peace, and feeling a surge of profound emotion.

Remembering history, honoring the martyrs, cherishing peace, and shaping the future—this great struggle for national survival not only reshaped the world order but also forged the indomitable spirit of the Chinese nation. Recalling the War of Resistance, the compatriots in Hong Kong stood united with the military and civilians on the mainland. The courage and sacrifices of the Hong Kong-Kowloon Independent Brigade of the East River Column, and the anti-Japanese fundraising efforts led by Soong Ching Ling through the "China Defense League" in Hong Kong, embodied the timeless principle that "every individual shares responsibility for the rise and fall of the nation." This sense of responsibility remains the spiritual foundation that guides us in navigating today’s complex international landscape.

Eighty years ago today, the Chinese people, together with the world, defeated fascism, achieving a great victory of justice over evil, light over darkness, and progress over reaction. As a critical international channel and intelligence hub during the war, Hong Kong played a vital role in transporting strategic supplies to the mainland and facilitating the evacuation of cultural elites. This history profoundly illustrates that Hong Kong’s destiny has always been intertwined with that of the motherland. Only by relying on the nation can Hong Kong withstand challenges, and only by serving the country can it secure its future.

As a witness and participant in the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in the new era, I deeply feel that, under the framework of "one country, two systems," the youth of Beijing and Hong Kong should join hands to inherit the spirit of the War of Resistance and transform historical memory into a powerful driving force for progress in the new era. At the core of this spirit lies self-reliance and perseverance. With the Hong Kong Beijing University Alumni Alliance and its 100,000 members as a bridge, we are committed to uniting and leading Chinese communities at home and abroad. We will actively seize opportunities presented by the new wave of technological and industrial transformation, leverage Hong Kong’s strengths as an international financial center and Beijing’s resources in technological innovation, and advance breakthroughs in key areas such as artificial intelligence and biomedicine. By translating patriotism into collaborative innovation, we will build a global network of youth partnerships and extend the tradition of international cooperation to new fields like the digital economy and climate change, ensuring the spirit of the War of Resistance shines brightly in the modern era.
